Psalmus 117. Confitemini Domino

Confitémini Dómino quóniam bonus: * quóniam in sæculum misericórdia ejus.
2  Dicat nunc Israël quóniam bonus: * quóniam in sæculum misericórdia ejus.
3  Dicat nunc domus Aaron: * quóniam in sæculum misericórdia ejus.
10  Omnes Gentes circuiérunt me: * et in nómine Dómini quia ultus sum in eos.
11  Circumdántes circumdedérunt me: * et in nómine Dómini quia ultus sum in eos.
12  Circumdedérunt me sicut apes, et exarsérunt sicut ignis in spinis: * et in nómine Dómini quia ultus sum in eos.
13  Impúlsus evérsus sum ut cáderem: * et Dóminus suscépit me.
15  Vox exsultatiónis, et salútis: * in tabernáculis justórum.
16  Déxtera Dómini fecit virtútem: déxtera Dómini exaltávit me, * déxtera Dómini fecit virtútem.
18  Castígans castigávit me Dóminus: * et morti non trádidit me.
19  Aperíte mihi portas justítiæ, ingréssus in eas confitébor Dómino: * hæc porta Dómini, justi intrábunt in eam.
20  Confitébor tibi quóniam exaudísti me: * et factus es mihi in salútem.
21  Lápidem, quem reprobavérunt ædificántes: * hic factus est in caput ánguli.
24  O Dómine, salvum me fac, o Dómine, bene prosperáre: * benedíctus qui venit in nómine Dómini.
26  Constitúite diem solémnem in condénsis, * usque ad cornu altáris.
27  Deus meus es tu, et confitébor tibi: * Deus meus es tu, et exaltábo te.
28  Confitébor tibi quóniam exaudísti me: * et factus es mihi in salútem.
29  Confitémini Dómino quóniam bonus: * quóniam in sæculum misericórdia ejus.

Psalm 117. Confitemini Domino

O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; * for his mercy endureth for ever.
2  Let Israël now confess that he is good, * and that his mercy endureth for ever.
3  Let the house of Aaron now confess, * that his mercy endureth for ever.
4  Yea, let them now that fear the Lord confess, * that his mercy endureth for ever.
5  I called upon the Lord in trouble; * and the Lord heard me at large.
6  The Lord is my helper; * I will not fear what man doeth unto me.
7  The Lord is my helper; * therefore shall I see my desire upon mine enemies.
8  It is better to trust in the Lord, * than to put any confidence in man.
9  It is better to trust in the Lord, * than to put any confidence in princes.
10  All nations compassed me round about; * but in the Name of the Lord will I destroy them.
11  They kept me in on every side, they kept me in, I say, on every side; * but in the Name of the Lord will I destroy them.
12  They came about me like bees, and burned even as the fire among the thorns; * but in the Name of the Lord I will destroy them.
13  Thou hast thrust sore at me, that I might fall; * but the Lord was my help.
14  The Lord is my strength, and my song; * and is become my salvation.
15  The voice of rejoicing and salvation * is in the dwellings of the righteous.
16   The right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength: the right hand of the Lord hath exalted me; * the right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength.
17  I shall not die, but live, * and declare the works of the Lord.
18  The Lord hath chastened and corrected me; * but he hath not given me over unto death.
19  Open me the gates of righteousness that I may enter therein and give thanks unto the Lord : * this is the gate of the Lord, the righteous shall enter therein.
20  I will give thanks unto thee, for thou hast heard me, * and art become my salvation.
21  The stone which the builders rejected, * the same is become the head-stone in the corner.
22  This is the Lord's doing, * and it is wonderful in our eyes.
23  This is the day which the Lord hath made; * let us rejoice and be glad therein.
24  Save me, O Lord: O Lord, make me to prosper: * blessed be he that cometh in the Name of the Lord.
25  We have blessed you from the house of the Lord: * God is the Lord, who hath shined his light upon us.
26  Appoint a solemn day with shady boughs, * yea, even unto the horns of the altar.
27  Thou art my God, and I will praise thee; * thou art my God, and I will exalt thee.
28  I will give thanks unto thee for thou hast heard me: * and art become my salvation.
29  O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good, * and his mercy endureth for ever.

On all Feasts of double I and II class, and on nine lesson Feasts of Our Lord, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Angels, Saint John Baptist, Saint Joseph, the Apostles and the Evangelists: at Prime, Terce, Sext and None shall be said the Psalms of the Sunday Office, with the Antiphons of the current Feast, unless otherwise noted; and at Prime, the following Psalm shall be said instead of Psalm 117 Confitemini, even if the Feast occurs on Sunday.

Psalmus 53. Deus, in Nomine

Deus, in nómine tuo salvum me fac: * et in virtúte tua júdica me.
7  Quóniam ex omni tribulatióne eripuísti me: * et super inimícos meos despéxit óculus meus.

Psalm 53. Deus, in Nomine

Save me, O God, for thy Name's sake, * and avenge me in thy strength.
2  Hear my prayer, O God, * and hearken unto the words of my mouth.
3  For strangers are risen up against me, and the mighty have sought after my soul, * which have not God before their eyes.
4  For behold, God is my helper; * and the Lord upholdeth my soul.
5  Turn back the evils upon mine enemies: * destroy thou them in thy truth.
6  An offering of a free heart will I give thee, * and praise thy Name, O Lord, for it is good.
7  For he hath delivered me out of all my trouble; * and mine eye hath looked down upon mine enemies.

The last two Psalms of Prime on Sundays and excepted Feasts are always as follows:

Psalmus 118. i.  Beati immaculati

8  Justificatiónes tuas custódiam: * non me derelínquas usquequáque.
9  In quo córrigit adolescéntior viam suam? * in custodiéndo sermónes tuos.
10  In toto corde meo exquisívi te: * ne repéllas me a mandátis tuis.
13  In lábiis meis, * pronuntiávi ómnia judícia oris tui.
14  In via testimoniórum tuórum delectátus sum, * sicut in ómnibus divítiis.
15  In mandátis tuis exercébor: * et considerábo vias tuas.

16  In justificatiónibus tuis meditábor: * non oblivíscar sermónes tuos.

Psalm 118. i.  Beati immaculati

Blessed are those that are undefiled in the way, * and walk in the law of the Lord.
2  Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, * and seek him with their whole heart;
3  For they that work iniquity, * walk not in his ways.
4  Thou hast charged * that we shall diligently keep thy commandments.
5  O that my ways were made so direct, * that I might keep thy statutes!
6  So shall I not be confounded, * while I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7  I will thank thee with an unfeigned heart, * when I shall have learned the judgments of thy righteousness.
8  I will keep thy statutes; * O forsake me not utterly.
9  Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? * even by ruling himself after thy word.
10  With my whole heart have I sought thee; * O let me not go wrong out of thy commandments.
11  Thy word have I hid within mine heart, * that I should not sin against thee.
12  Blessed art thou, O Lord; * O teach me thy statutes.
13  With my lips * have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14  I have had as great delight in the way of thy testimonies, * as in all manner of riches.
15  I will meditate upon thy commandments, * and have respect unto thy ways.
16  My delight shall be in thy statutes, * and I will not forget thy word.

Psalmus 118. ii.  Retribue servo tuo

17  Retríbue servo tuo, vivífica me: * et custódiam sermónes tuos.
19  Incola ego sum in terra: * non abscóndas a me mandáta tua.
20  Concupívit ánima mea desideráre justificatiónes tuas, * in omni témpore.
21  Increpásti supérbos: * maledícti qui declínant a mandátis tuis.
22  Aufer a me oppróbrium, et contémptum: * quia testimónia tua exquisívi.
23  Etenim sedérunt príncipes, et advérsum me loquebántur: * servus autem tuus exercebátur in justificatiónibus tuis.
25  Adhæsit paviménto ánima mea: * vivífica me secúndum verbum tuum.
26  Vias meas enuntiávi et exaudísti me: * doce me justificatiónes tuas.
27  Viam justificatiónum tuárum ínstrue me: * et exercébor in mirabílibus tuis.
28  Dormitávit ánima mea præ tædio: * confírma me in verbis tuis.
29  Viam iniquitátis ámove a me: * et de lege tua miserére mei.
30  Viam veritátis elégi: * judícia tua non sum oblítus.
31  Adhæsi testimóniis tuis Dómine: * noli me confúndere.
32  Viam mandatórum tuórum cucúrri: * cum dilatásti cor meum.

Psalm 118. ii.  Retribue servo tuo

17  O do well unto thy servant, and quicken thou me : * and I will keep thy word.
18  Open thou mine eyes; * that I may see the wondrous things of thy law.
19  I am a stranger upon earth; * O hide not thy commandments from me.
20  My soul is an-hungered for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments, * at all times.
21  Thou hast rebuked the proud; * and cursed are they that do err from thy commandments.
22  O turn from me shame and rebuke; * for I have kept thy testimonies.
23  Princes also did sit and speak against me; * but thy servant hath meditated upon thy statutes.
24  For thy testimonies are my delight, * and thy precepts my counsellors.
25  My soul cleaveth to the dust; * O quicken thou me, according to thy word.
26  I have acknowledged my ways, and thou heardest me: * O teach me thy statutes.
27  Make me to understand the way of thy commandments; * and so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
28  My soul sleepeth for very heaviness; * strengthen thou me according unto thy word.
29  Take from me the way of lying, * and have mercy upon me out of thy law.
30  I have chosen the way of truth, * and thy judgments have I not forgotten.
31  I cleave unto thy testimonies, O Lord; * confound me not.
32  I have run the way of thy commandments, * when thou didst enlarge my heart.

After the final Psalm of Prime, is repeated the Antiphon, as follows:
Ant.    Allelúja, allelúja, allelúja. Ant.    Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
