Ecce enim Dominátor Deus
exercítuum áuferet a Jerúsalem et a

virum bellatórem, Júdicem, et prophétam, et aríolum,
et senem : príncipem super quinquagínta, et honorábilem vultu, et
consiliárium, et sapiéntem de architéctis, et prudéntem elóquii mystici.
Et dabo púeros príncipes eórum, et effemináti dominabúntur eis. |
For, behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, doth take
away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay
of bread, and the whole stay of water. The mighty man, and the man
of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient, the
captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the
cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator. And I will give children
to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. |

Et írruet pópulus vir ad
virum, et unusquísque ad próximum suum : tumultuábitur
puer contra senem, et ignóbilis contra nóbilem. Apprehéndet enim vir
fratrem suum domésticum patris sui : Vestiméntum tibi est, princeps esto
noster, ruína autem hæc sub manu tua.
Respondébit in die illa, dicens : Non sum médicus,
et in domo mea non est panis, neque vestiméntum : nolíte constitúere
me príncipem pópuli. |
And the people shall be oppressed, every one by
another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself
proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father,
saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under
thy hand: in that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for
in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the
people. |

Chap. 3, 8-11 |

Ruit enim Jerúsalem, et
Judas cóncidit : quia lingua eórum et
adinventiónes eórum contra Dóminum, ut provocárent óculos majestátis ejus.
Agnítio vultus eórum respóndit eis : et peccátum suum quasi Sódoma
prædicavérunt, nec abscondérunt : væ
ánimæ eórum, quóniam réddita sunt eis
mala.
Dícite justo quóniam bene, quóniam
fructum adinventiónum suárum cómedet.
Væ ímpio in malum : retribútio enim
mánuum ejus fiet ei. |
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because
their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of
his glory. The shew of their countenance doth witness against them;
and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their
soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. Say ye to the
righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of
their doings. Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the
reward of his hands shall be given him. |

véniunt, dicit Dóminus, et suscitábo David germen justum : et regnábit
rex, et sápiens erit, et fáciet judícium et justítiam in terra :

In diébus illis salvábitur Juda, et Israël
habitábit confidénter.

the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous
Branch ; and a King shall reign in wisdom and shall execute judgment and
justice in the earth : *

Israel shall dwell safely.
