Use of St. Pius X
Rubrics
The Confraternity of Ss. Peter & Paul uses
exclusively the rubrics of the Roman Breviary promulgated by Pope St.
Pius X in the Bull Divino Afflatu of November 1911. In Choir and
common recitation of the Divine Office by the
Confraternity, these rubrics are the only ones
permitted. The reasons for this are made clear by reading the article
by His Grace, Bishop Daniel Dolan, Pre-Vatican II Liturgical
Change:
The Road to the New Mass. This critique of the reforms of the
Breviary attempted by the modernists in the 1950s and 60s shows
clearly how they must be rejected by traditional Catholics who wish to
preserve the pure unadulterated liturgy of our fathers in the faith.
Local Chapters
Members throughout the world are actively encouraged to start up local
Chapters of the Confraternity in their parishes. We have been asked
to provide procedures for establishing a Local Chapter,
and we provide here
some suggestions on how to proceed. Obviously, much depends on the
response and enthusiasm of other parishioners, and particularly of your
Parish Priest. These suggestions may be modified according to your particular circumstances.
Worldwide Membership
In order to encourage members to
contact each other, to organize the public recitation of the Divine
Office, and to establish local chapters of the Confraternity, the Office of the Secretary
General has published a Worldwide Membership List. Please note that we
never publish any personal
information on our members, nor will the Confraternity give out any personal
information of any member to another member without permission. If
you would like to contact another member, you should do so by getting in
touch with the
Secretary General. This office will provide general
information, such as letting you know if any other members are located
in your area, and if you wish, will contact the other member or
members with whom you wish to speak, in order to seek permission to
provide you with their contact information.
