The first part of Vespers is in the Ordinary

On excepted feasts the Antiphons and Psalms are as follows.  Otherwise the Antiphons and Psalms are of the current weekday, with what follows as below from the Chapter onwards.

From Miletus Paul sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.  And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons; serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and in trials which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews : and how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.  And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:  save that the Holy Ghost testifieth unto me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.  But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the Ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the Gospel of the grace of God.

I say again, let us declare to the holy Martyrs what grace the Lord's Passover doth promise them!  Let us tell them that even as the seals of his sepulchre were broken and the stone rolled away, even so shall their graves be set open and earth's hold on their remains forever broken.  Let us tell them that even as his dead body was warmed with sudden life and returning power, even so shall their members, now cold in the dust of death, glow with the warmth of immortal vigour.  For that power which hath already raised their Lord from death will one day give resurrection to them his Martyrs.  For as they have followed him in his sufferings, so also shall they follow him in his newness of life.  It is written in the Psalms : Thou shalt shew me the path of life.  These words may be understood as the speech of the Saviour at his Resurrection, for after he died and came up again from hell, he began to take knowledge of the path of life which aforetime was not known.

Psalm 14.  Domine, quis habitabit?

Lord, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle? * or who shall rest upon thy holy hill?

3  He that speaketh the truth in his heart, * and that hath used no deceit in his tongue.
4  Nor done evil to his neighbour, * and hath not taken up slander against his neighbour.

Psalmus 20.  Domine, in virtute tua

Dómine, in virtúte tua lætábitur rex: * et super salutáre tuum exsultábit veheménter.
2  Desidérium cordis ejus tribuísti ei: * et voluntáte labiórum ejus non fraudásti eum.
3  Quóniam prævenísti eum in benedictiónibus dulcédinis: * posuísti in cápite ejus corónam de lápide pretióso.
4  Vitam pétiit a te: * et tribuísti ei longitúdinem diérum in sæculum, et in sæculum sæculi.
5  Magna est glória ejus in salutári tuo: * glóriam et magnum decórem impónes super eum.

The King shall rejoice in thy strength, O Lord; * exceeding glad shall he be in thy salvation.
2  Thou hast given him his heart's desire, * and hast not denied him the request of his lips.
3  For thou hast prevented him with the blessings of goodness, * and hast set a crown of precious stones upon his head.
4  He asked life of thee; * and thou gavest him length of days, for ever, even world without end.
5  His honour is great in thy salvation; * glory and great worship shalt thou lay upon him.
6  For thou shalt give him to be a blessing for ever and ever, * and make him glad with the joy of thy countenance.
7  For the king putteth his trust in the Lord; * and in the mercy of the Most Highest he shall not be moved.
8  May all thine enemies find thy hand; * and may thy right hand find out all them that hate thee.
9  Thou shalt make them like a fiery oven in time of thy wrath: * the Lord shall destroy them in his displeasure, and the fire shall consume them.

11  For they intended mischief against thee, * and devised counsels such as they were not able to perform.
12  Therefore shalt thou put them to flight, * in thy remnants shalt thou make ready the face of them.

At that time : Jesus said unto his disciples : I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.  And so on, and that which followeth.

Iste locus evangélicus, fratres, ubi se dicit Dóminus vitem et discípulos suos pálmites, secúndum hoc dicit quod est caput Ecclésiæ nosque membra ejus, mediátor Dei et hóminum, homo Christus Jesus.  Uníus quippe natúræ sunt vitis et pálmites.  Propter quod, cum esset Deus, cujus natúræ non sumus, factus est homo, ut in illo esset vitis humána natúra, cujus et nos hómines pálmites esse possémus.

Brethren, this passage of the Gospel, wherein the Lord saith that he is the vine, and that his disciples are the branches, is to be taken in the sense wherein it is also said that he is the head of the Church, and that we are his members ; members verily of him who is the Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.  A vine and its branches are of one and the same nature.  Wherefore, being God, of whose nature we are not, he was made man to the end that might have in himself our human nature (that is, this vine) whereof we men can be made branches.

V.  Tu autem, Dómine, miserére nobis.
R.  Deo grátias.

V.  But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us.
